The system operates with a stainless steel hydraulic oil tank: 65L.

The system features a stainless steel hydraulic oil tank which is sea water cooled via a heat exchanger which feeds oil to the winch and winch motor.
 
It operates using a multi-piston hydraulic pump driven from the main engine by  twin V “A” or “B” section belt drive off flywheel pulley.
On boats fitted with a ZF 280V gearbox, the pump can be fitted directly into the SAE-B fitting at the rear of the gearbox, thus eliminating the need for belts and pulleys.
Pressure created by the pump is varied constantly by the pull of the parasail against the system and the direction of winching is controlled by the operator’s direction control lever driving the winch motor either inwards or outwards.
The control lever is fully variable allowing for precision speed control in both directions. The control returns automatically to the neutral position - stopping the winch - if the operator’s hand is removed from the lever.
An automatic winch brake is fitted preventing the winch from free wheeling. (The brake is released automatically before winding commences and applied automatically once the lever is released.)
